Cecile McLorin Salvant and her band—pianist Sullivan Fortner, bassist Yasushi Nakamura, and drummer Kyle Poole—bring music from her upcoming album Oh Snap, due September 19 on Nonesuch, and more to the sold-out Newport Jazz Festival's Quad Stage at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island on Sunday for the . Salvant shared a live performance video of the title track to the new album, performed with Fortner at the piano, this week; you can watch it here.

Also performing at Newport Jazz Festival tonight are Yussef Dayes, whose 2024 EP The Yussef Dayes Experience: Live From Malibu, features music from his critically acclaimed debut solo album, Black Classical Music, and Rachael & Vilray—singer/songwriter Rachael Price (Lake Street Dive) and guitarist/singer/songwriter Vilray—who released two albums on Nonesuch.

Pianist Richard Goode joins the Brevard Music Center Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Keith Lockhart, at Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina, on Sunday, for the culmination of the 2025 season. The program includes Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 in C Major, K.503, which Goode recorded for Nonesuch in 1998, followed by Vaughn Williams’s A Sea Symphony. There is a free pre-concert lecture one hour prior, in Thomas Hall.

Brad Mehldau and his trio—bassist Felix Moseholm and drummer Jorge Rossy—perform at Salles des Combins, in Bagnes, Switzerland, tonight, as part of the Verbier Festival. Mehldau released the fourth single, “Southern Belle,” featuring Daniel Rossen of Grizzly Bear, from his upcoming album Ride into the Sun, last week. The album, due August 29, is a songbook record of music by the late singer, songwriter, and guitarist Elliott Smith. Moseholm performs on the album, as do singer/mandolinist Chris Thile, bassist John Davis, drummer Matt Chamberlain, and a chamber orchestra led by Dan Coleman. Chris Thile joins Mumford & Sons for a sold-out performance at Champions Square in New Orleans on Sunday, as part of their four-show Railroad Revival Tour with each night featuring a special guest. Thile will travel with the band to South Carolina, Virginia, and Vermont this week, before joining Brad Mehldau on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and at Largo in Los Angeles August 11.

Molly Tuttle performs at Big Sky Events Arena in Big Sky, Montana, tonight and tomorrow for the sold-out Wildlands festival. Tuttle released her new single “Old Me (New Wig)”, the third off her upcoming album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine, yesterday; you can listen to the track here.
