After spending nearly 30 years showcasing their music across the globe, Wilco will make its Iceland debut April 6–8, 2023, at Reykjavík’s Eldborg Hall at Harpa. Tickets go on sale August 16. A new, previously unreleased track from the upcoming Yankee Hotel Foxtrot super deluxe and deluxe editions—a live, in-the-studio version of “Ashes of American Flags” from a 2001 session on WXRT Radio’s Sound Opinions—is out today.

Nonesuch releases seven special editions of Wilco’s landmark 2002 album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot on September 16, available to pre-order now. The now-classic record has been remastered and will be available as part of each set. The Super Deluxe version comprises eleven vinyl LPs and one CD—including demos, drafts, and instrumentals, charting the making of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot—plus a live 2002 concert recording and a September 2001 radio performance and interview. That box set includes 82 previously unreleased music tracks as well as a new book featuring an interview with Jeff Tweedy, Glenn Kotche, and Jim O’Rourke; an in-depth essay by journalist/author Bob Mehr; and previously unseen photos of the band making the album in their Chicago studio. A version of "Reservations," recorded live in concert at The Pageant in St. Louis in 2002, is out now. The band is currently performing Yankee Hotel Foxtrot in its entirety (plus a mix of concert favorites and rarities) in two limited runs at NYC’s United Palace and Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre; the April 23 Chicago show will stream live.

This April marks 20 years since the release of Wilco’s storied fourth studio album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, on Nonesuch Records. Wilco will celebrate the milestone by performing Yankee Hotel Foxtrot—considered by many to be one of the greatest albums of the 2000s—in its entirety, plus a mix of concert favorites and rarities, in two limited runs at New York City’s United Palace and Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre in April. These unique performances precede Wilco’s annual North Adams–based Solid Sound Festival in May, and will offer fans a rare chance to celebrate the original masterpiece and prepare for the archival Yankee Hotel Foxtrot re-releases coming later this year.

The ceremony salutes Wilco and its fellow inductees, Lucinda Williams and Alejandro Escovedo, with performances by Jason Isbell, Rosanne Cash, Margo Price, Sheila E., Lenny Kaye, Japanese Breakfast and more. Wilco made its Nonesuch Records debut with the release of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot fifteen years ago today, on April 23, 2002. On the album, Wilco delivers a thrillingly experimental work that scored a perfect 10 on Pitchfork, which hailed the album "simply a masterpiece." The New York Times said that "songs about love, America, apocalypse, and self-invention unfold in richly enigmatic arrangements" on the album. Rolling Stone named Yankee Hotel Foxtrot the No. 3 Album of the 2000s.

Wilco has released a full-length documentary film entitled Every Other Summer, about the band's music and arts festival, Solid Sound. Directed by Christoph Green and Brendan Canty of Trixie Films and shot in 2013, it documents the three-day event, which takes place at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. The film features appearances and performances from a number of festival artists including Sam Amidon, who returns to Solid Sound next weekend with Bill Frisell. The two give a free set in Brooklyn's Prospect Park tonight for Celebrate Brooklyn!.
