Newport Folk Festival 2011
The 2011 Newport Folk Festival, held July 30-31, offered sold-out crowds two beautiful summer days of music from performers including the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Emmylou Harris, Wanda Jackson, and Chris Thile & Michael Daves. You can now listen to all of those sets online at NPR.org, from the ever "vital and contemporary" Harris to the "blazingly intense music" of Thile & Daves. The Boston Globe says that all the music proved "compelling and indebted to what preceded it."

Wanda Jackson performed songs off her album The Party Ain't Over and from throughout her storied career at Rachael Ray's Feedback party on the closing day of the 2011 SXSW Music Conference, March 19, 2011. Ray describes the event, held at Stubb's BBQ in Austin, as "a mash-up of everything I love: actual friends and family, food, and great music." Reverb says: "Wanda Jackson effortlessly defended her legendary status."

Wanda Jackson's album The Party Ain't Over was produced by Jack White and released on Third Man / Nonesuch Records on January 25, 2011. Jackson, White, and The Third Man House Band marked the occasion with a series of sold-out concerts in New York and Los Angeles. In these photos from the New York show at Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg, on January 21, taken by photographer Harry Shuldman, it's clear the party ain't over! Consequence of Sound said "the whole evening was nothing less than captivating and if you knew not of Jackson before attending, it was impossible not only to walk away impressed but a fan."
