Lake Street Dive's new album, Obviously, will be released March 12 on Nonesuch. The album was produced by Mike Elizondo, a songwriting collaborator for Dr. Dre, Eminem, and 50 Cent and record producer for Fiona Apple and Mary J. Blige, among others. "Mike encouraged us to make bolder arrangement choices, take those chances and try those things," says bassist Bridget Kearney. "The record really is a success in what we set out to do: continue to challenge ourselves, continue to grow, and do things we’ve never done before." A new single, “Nobody’s Stopping You Now,” is out now, as is the previously released track "Making Do"; you can watch videos for both here. Nonesuch Store pre-orders also include a limited-edition, autographed print while supplies last.

Lake Street Dive continues its annual Halloween tradition of costumed cover-song videos with a performance of The Beatles' "Don't Let Me Down," which you can watch here. The video was filmed on the roof of a Brooklyn brownstone, à la Let It Be, by Johnny Frohman, with audio by Robin MacMillan, for the band's latest online Lounge Around Sounds Variety Hour episode, "Halloween Spooktacular!," from earlier this week. The next session, "ThanksForGiving," will take place on November 23.

About Lake Street Dive

  • Lake Street Dive released the song "Making Do" and an accompanying video on September 30, 2020. You can watch the video here:

"'Making Do' is about the world that future generations are inheriting," says the band. "We are all concerned about what is happening to our planet, so the song explores what arises when we consider both our role in it and our responsibility to address it. Hopefully it comes through as a rallying cry to do the best you can with what you have."

The video comprises clips from fans and a cameo by Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey, who, along with Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, introduced the Green New Deal to tackle climate change.
