Can't wait for the new Natalie Merchant release. It's been a long seven years!

One day I was driving listening to the radio & a NM song Carnival played. My thought was Wow,
I have not her song In a very long time. I forgot how much I liked her songs and voice as a lead singer with 10,000 maniacs and her solo career. I went home and dug up the last CD\Mother Land I purchased. It was almost like new, I hardly played it, I was a very busy mom and put it aside and forgotten it. I didn't know she released another CD/ Carpenter's Daughter.
I played Mother Land and enjoy it all over again and the lyrics met so much to me especially Not In Your Life.
I couldn't get enough her voice, because it put me at ease and sooth my nerves after a stressful day at work.
My kids, got annoyed, because I played her over & over.
I purchased her music itunes. Then research her on the web and found her official site, then purchased many items from the website.
I found that there were so many people who love her for the same reasons I did and they were talking about her & when she coming out.
They posted her every move, benefit recordings, small concerts etc. I realize she was missed.
I was amazed on how many songs she written and how many I forgotten during the early years with 10,000 maniacs. Also the songs during her solo career I did not hear. I love all of them. Even the remakes Space Oddity, Gulf Of Araby, Nowhere man. I can take a quiz and score very well. I started a collections of songs she sang, I know her music well now than I ever did. Can't wait. PS. I love new song Heaven & now I'm into Brett Dennen all because of her. I hope she touring in Chicago to promote her new music. I can't wait.
Anxiously waiting in chicago

Thank you guys for releasing the upcoming Natalie Merchant cd. I have been a fan since the early days of 10,000 Maniacs, all the way up to the release her of last solo effort, the beautiful "House Carpenter's Daughter". I, along with legions of other fans, have waited a long time for the new studio album and am thrilled the time has almost come. There is nothing like the haunting voice of Natalie Merchant. Her songwriting is unforgettable. I can't wait to hear how she's grown over these long seven years. I will buy this release the day it becomes available. Thank you again. Here's to a long and successful relationship with Natalie, Nonesuch Records and her many fans. James R. Ruff

One of the greatest singer songwriters of all time, away for far too long. Can't wait to hear the direction the last 7 years have persuaded her to take. I still regularly have The Wishing Chair, Blind Mans Zoo and the other Maniacs on in the car.

Inspiration For Many...
Hearing her melodic call
in the midst of the wild
Sweet echos of an Angel
bellows mellow and mild
Withering hands lovingly
hold on tight
Never letting go
any day or night
Wake to the many dreams
that show the way
May you see love
each and every day
Music is finally found
in the lost dancing town
Enjoy what you feel
prancing all around
She swirls with heavenly
delight
Feeling the warmth
in the colors of the light
As she sings
I will Wait...
Hearing her songs
with mosaic pizazz
Playfully playing
with the music called
Jazz...
Peace on Earth
Best of luck Natalie- 2010

This is my 2nd post. I was happy to see a video clip of her recent performance on BBC2, and I LUV, LUV HER NEW SONGS!!!! I cant wait until her new cd "LEAVE YOUR SLEEP" is released. Natalie's alto voice is so beautiful, unique and incomparable that it allows her to make such an distinct, unusual cd. Natalie have been away for too long and the world needs an honorable, kind hearted, excellent artist like her.
I have a fantasy that American Idol has Natalie Merchant as a musical guest to sing her new cd and the contestant performs her songs. Hint! Hint!. It could happen. :)
Come to Chicago Please :)

From Chicago my review on Natalie Merchant concert. It meet all my expectations. She looked & sang beautiful, annotated the poets. She's very humorous, silly & a bit of a diva. Her dancing had been tamed since her very early days of 1000's maniacs due to type of music. I did manage to see a bit of her old wildness poking out from a little time to time.
A few people in line or sitting behind me had share they they fell in love with her since Ophelia. I was a fan of hers since 1000's maniac days because of a very good song "Verdi Cries" and being the same age I was able to relate to her. I loved her free spirited dancing & twirling very wildly on stage.
Even though I was always a fan, I came to really appreciate & miss her just a year ago, when I heard Carnival on my car radio & thought OMG WOW!!! I have not heard that girl in a long, long time. Got home dusted off Motherland, then I was hooked again Found her website purchased 1000's maniacs cd & few others for nostalgic memories. I like comparing how her voice as it mature from the early days. Now that my spouse is my ex & my kids are college aged. Its my turn. I plan on attending her full concert this summer.
"Leave Your Sleep" is a grammy winning. Im glad to finally can take part in the concerts. I will be watching as she walks on stage to receive her grammy and being very proud of our girl. YOU GO GIRL!!!! On a different note I would love to see American Idol have a Natalie Merchant night of songs and she the musical guest. It could happen. : }

What can i say,Natalies vocals are amazing, her timing is perfect, the song selections flow evenly, the insturments and musicians are great, the mixture of emotions within the songs chosen have great range.Every aspect of this record is wonderfull.I'm totally impressed with Natalie and all of her peers how worked on this LP.Thank you NONSUCH for believing in her and for helping her to get this awesome record into the hands of music and literary lovers. It simply is the best work i've ever heard and a very educational read.I bought a copy for myself and could hardly wait to share it with family and friends,so i bought five more copies and 2 pit tickets to her Durham concert. Thanks again to NONSUCH.
