  • Wilco Launches Tour of Japan, New Zealand, and Australia After "Slam-Bang Finish" to US Tour (Post-Gazette)

Wilco begins a two-week tour of Japan, New Zealand, and Australia with a set at the Big Cat in Osaka tonight. All five shows in Australia feature an opening set from Liam Finn. The latest tour begins less than two weeks after what the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette called the "slam-bang finish" of the band's fully sold-out US tour in Pittsburgh.

About this Album

"It's the best it's ever felt," said Jeff Tweedy of these Wilco performances recorded at Chicago's Vic Theatre May 4-7, 2005. Rolling Stone calls Kicking Television “a love letter to Wilco's dedicated fans and a definitive live statement from America's foremost rock impressionists.”

This Kicking Television LP box set includes an audiophile, 180-gram vinyl pressing of the album on four discs, featuring eight previously unreleased bonus tracks, and a fold-out commemorative poster modeled after the Chicago skyline.
