Out today, Wilco (the album) (the picture disc) melds the 2009 album's acclaimed music with the whimsy of the original photography, on one vinyl disc. Wilco's seventh studio album "is all about a great band playing great original music on an album filled with great songs," says NPR. The Independent gave five stars to the "magnificent" album.
Wilco made its Nonesuch Records debut with the release of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot fifteen years ago today, on April 23, 2002. On the album, Wilco delivers a thrillingly experimental work that scored a perfect 10 on Pitchfork, which hailed the album "simply a masterpiece." The New York Times said that "songs about love, America, apocalypse, and self-invention unfold in richly enigmatic arrangements" on the album. Rolling Stone named Yankee Hotel Foxtrot the No. 3 Album of the 2000s.
