Watch: Brad Mehldau, Mark Guiliana Perform "Just Call Me Nige" from Forthcoming Album, "Mehliana: Taming the Dragon"

Mehliana: Taming the Dragon, the debut album from the electric duo of Brad Mehldau and Mark Guiliana, is due out from Nonesuch Records on February 25, 2014. Mehldau and Guiliana have been performing for several years, with Mehldau playing Fender Rhodes and synthesizers and Guiliana on drums and effects, as they are on the record. During a show at Largo in Los Angeles last fall, the duo performed songs from the forthcoming album, including "Hungry Ghost," a video of which was released in November, and "Just Call Me Nige," which you can now watch below. The video was directed and recorded by Alex Chaloff.

Fans in New York City can catch the live show next week with Mehliana in concert at the Highline Ballroom on Wednesday, January 22. For more on that and other upcoming shows, including European and US tours from the Brad Mehldau Trio, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

Mehliana: Taming the Dragon comprises 12 original tunes—six written by the duo and six written by Mehldau—and was engineered and mixed by Greg Koller (Jon Brion, Kanye West). The vinyl edition of the album, due March 18, includes two 140-gram LPs pressed at Pallas MFG in Diepholz, Germany, and a CD of the album. Both the CD and vinyl are available to pre-order in the Nonesuch Store with an instant download of the album track “Hungry Ghost.” To reserve a copy and download the track, head to the Nonesuch Store now.
