    Alarm Will Sound, Donnacha Dennehy to Participate in 2012 Mizzou New Music Summer Festival: Artists-in-Residence, Guest Composer

    Alarm Will Sound will be the Artists-in-Residence at the third annual Mizzou New Music Summer Music Festival, held July 22–28, 2012, on the campus of the University of Missouri in Columbia. Eight composers from around the world will be selected through a portfolio application process to compose a work to be performed by Alarm Will Sound. The deadline for portfolio submissions is this Tuesday, November 1.

    Irish composer Donnacha Dennehy will be a guest composer at the festival, participating in discussions with the selected composers and master classes, as will fellow guest composer Steven Stucky. Festival attendees will also take part in workshops with Alarm Will Sound and receive a professional live recording of the premiere performance of their work.

    Festival tuition for each selected composer will be provided through the generous contributions of the Sinquefield Charitable Foundation.

    To pick up a copy of Alarm Will Sound's 2009 Nonesuch debut album, a/rhythmia, and Donnacha Dennehy's label debut, Grá agus Bás, released earlier this year, head to the Nonesuch Store, where CD orders include high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s of the album at checkout.

    Shye Ben-Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express, currently touring Latin America as special guests of Radiohead, performing songs from their album Junun, will join Radiohead on its North American tour this summer. The tour starts with two sold-out nights at Chicago's United Center, followed by four sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City; two nights each in Montreal and Toronto; shows in Detroit, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh; and two nights each in Boston and Philadelphia. The Times of London called Junun "essential listening."
