Chris Thile and Michael Daves's debut duo album, Sleep with One Eye Open, released last month on Nonesuch, is an Amazon MP3 takeover album today, which means the digital album is available for just $3.99 at Amazon for today only. It also means that while you're there, you can download the album track "My Little Girl in Tennessee" for free as Amazon's Free Song of the Day. Head to amazon.com to get your copy now.

Sleep with One Eye Open was recorded live to tape over four days at Jack White’s Third Man studio in Nashville. The album is a collection of 16 traditional tunes by bluegrass legends like The Monroe Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, Jimmy Martin, and Flatt & Scruggs. The duo makes for "a rip-roaring partnership," says the New York Times. "Bluegrass, in their hands, gets roughed up in the best possible way, with skill and fervor, and a touch of abandon."

Thile and Daves are in Colorado this weekend to perform at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Friday night. Thile will also join his Punch Brothers band mates at the festival, where they follow their regular set on Saturday with a late-night NightGrass set at the Sheridan Opera House when the sun goes down. Planet Bluegrass's Brian Eyster tells the Durango Telegraph that among the "10 things he's most looking forward to at this year's festival" is "Chris Thile and Michael Daves annihilating the Telluride audience with the raw energy of just guitar, mandolin and two voices."
