The nominations for the 80th Academy Awards have been announced. Congratulations go to There Will Be Blood and Sweeney Todd, which have received a combined 11 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for There Will Be Blood and Best Actor for Sweeney Todd. The Awards will be handed out in Hollywood on February 24.

The nominations for the 80th Academy Awards have been announced. Congratulations go to There Will Be Blood and Sweeney Todd, which have received a combined 11 nominations.

There Will Be Blood was nominated for Best Motion Picture of the Year; Paul Thomas Anderson was nominated twice, both for Director and Adapted Screenplay; and Daniel Day-Lewis is among the nominees for Actor in a Leading Role. The film also earned noms for Art Direction; Cinematography; Film Editing; and Sound Editing.

For Sweeney Todd, Johnny Depp was also nominated for Actor in a Leading Role, and the film received noms for Art Direction and Costume Design.
