A Dotted Line, the new album from Nickel Creek—Chris Thile, Sara Watkins, and Sean Watkins—has debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200, the band's highest chart position to date, with 27,000 units sold. It has been a busy week for the band, with performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, WNYC's Soundcheck, CBS This Morning Saturday, and A Prairie Home Companion. Nickel Creek begins its first US tour in seven years on April 16 and has announced a new batch of tour dates for this summer in addition to the previously announced spring shows. See all of the currently announced tour dates below. Josh Ritter will join the band in Cary, NC and Portsmouth, VA; additional support acts will be announced soon. A limited pre-sale for most of the newly announced dates begins Wednesday, April 9, at 10 AM local time via nickelcreek.com.

A Dotted Line was produced by Eric Valentine and includes six new co-written songs, one tune by Thile, one by Sean Watkins, and two covers. "The most striking feature about A Dotted Line is the sheer strength of the singing, and the frequency with which it takes flight in three-part harmony," writes the New York Times. "The signature Nickel Creek blend comes across loud and clear." "It's tight, it's masterful; it's totally grown-up," says NPR. "But it's also a blast." To pick up a copy, head to iTunes or the Nonesuch Store, where vinyl (due April 29) and CD orders include a download of the complete album at checkout.
