Punch Brothers have announced a series of North American tour dates for this winter, playing shows in the US and Canada in February and March of 2012 in support of their forthcoming record (details of which are coming soon). The new run of shows begins with two nights at the Somerville Theatre outside of Boston on February 23 and 24 and includes stops in Burlington, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, and Minneapolis, before heading out West for sets in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Denver, all with special guest Aoife O'Donovan. See below for all of the currently scheduled dates and head to nonesuch.com/on-tour for additional information and ticket links. Tickets for most shows go on sale this Friday, December 2.

Today's announcement follows the Punch Brothers' recent tour supporting the legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon, which came to a close just last week. And before they head out on their North American tour in February, Punch Brothers will launch a previously announced European tour, highlights of which include a double bill with label mates Carolina Chocolate Drops at the 2012 Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow; a headlining show at Bush Hall in London; and several sold-out dates supporting Amos Lee.

Back in the States in January, Punch Brothers will join Loudon Wainwright III for two shows, and mandolinist Chris Thile will join guitarist Michael Daves—with whom he released their debut duo album, Sleep with One Eye Open, on Nonesuch earlier this year—for a performance at The Allen Room in New York City as part of Lincoln Center's American Songbook series.

See below for all of the currently scheduled Punch Brothers tour dates; for additional information, go to nonesuch.com/on-tour. And check back with the Nonesuch Journal in the coming weeks for details on the forthcoming album.
