Punch Brothers Offer Grammy-Nominated Track Free, Announce New Tour Dates

Punch Brothers were recently nominated for two Grammy Awards, including Best Country Instrumental Performance for the song "New Chance Blues," a bonus track off their latest Nonesuch album, Antifogmatic. To celebrate the great news, you can now download a the Grammy-nominated track "New Chance Blues" for free here. The band has added a number of new 2011 tour dates to their schedule, as has Chris Thile, all of which are listed here.

When the 2010 Grammy nominations were announced last week, Punch Brothers received two nods: Best Country Instrumental Performance for the song "New Chance Blues," which was released as a bonus track off their latest Nonesuch album, Antifogmatic, and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for the song "Pride" with Dierks Bentley and Del McCoury. To celebrate the great news, you can now download a the Grammy-nominated track "New Chance Blues" for free below.

Punch Brothers were in New York City last night to perform at the Holiday Cheer for FUV to benefit member-supported radio station WFUV. You can see photos from the event at wfuv.org. Show openers Secret Sisters joined the band on stage for a couple of songs and will be on hand again at Punch Brothers' next New York show, a p-Bingo Night at the Bowery Ballroom January 15.

Along with that show, the quintet has added a number of new 2011 tour dates to their schedule, including stops in Nashville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco. In addition to the Punch Brothers dates, Chris Thile will be performing with Gabriel Kahane and special guest Brad Mehldau at (Le) Poisson Rouge in New York City on Wednesday, March 2, as part of Mehldau's season as holder of the Debs Composer's Chair at Carnegie Hall. Thile will also play three symphony dates, performing his Mandolin Concerto, in Cedar Falls, Iowa; Scottsdale, Arizona; and Great Falls, Montana. Below is a full list of dates.     Vagabon (aka Laetitia Tamko) will support the band Crumb on tour this October. The shows begin in California—Santa Cruz, Oakland, and Sacramento—then head to Salt Lake City and Denver and on to Texas—Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso—and Albuquerque and back to California to close out the tour in Santa Ana, San Diego, and Los Angeles.
