Punch Brothers, Rhiannon Giddens, and the duo of Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer will be among the performers at the 42nd annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, taking place June 18–21, 2015, the weekend of the summer solstice. The preliminary lineup for the much-loved southwestern Colorado event was announced earlier today, just before the winter solstice. Among the other performers are Thile's fellow Punch Brother Noam Pikelny (whom he first befriended at the festival in 2005), who will perform with fiddler Stuart Duncan. For additional details and tickets, visit bluegrass.com/telluride.

Both Punch Brothers and Rhiannon Giddens have new albums out on Nonesuch Records in early 2015, both produced by T Bone Burnett: the fourth full-length album from Punch Brothers, The Phosphorescent Blues, out January 27 on CD and digital and February 24 on vinyl; and the solo debut album from Carolina Chocolate Drops co-founder Rhiannon Giddens, Tomorrow Is My Turn, out February 10 on CD and digital and March 3 on vinyl. They are available to pre-order now in the Nonesuch Store.

Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer released their second recording collaboration, Bass & Mandolin, this past September, earning three Grammy Award nominations: Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, Best Instrumental Composition for the track "Tarnation," and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. (Thile also received two Grammy nominations for his work with Nickel Creek.) The album is available in the Nonesuch Store at 15% off the everyday low price listed on the site, as part of our store anniversary sale.

Among the other performers at Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 2015 is the band Lake Street Dive, which can be heard on the forthcoming live concert album, Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of "Inside Llewyn Davis," due January 13 on CD and vinyl, available to preorder in the Nonesuch Store.

The Library of Congress has acquired the collection of manuscripts, instruments, costumes, video and audio recordings, and more from Kronos Quartet and its non-profit organization, Kronos Performing Arts Association. “It’s gratifying to know that Kronos’ legacy will be preserved in perpetuity alongside the manuscripts and other treasures of so many other influential musicians from the US and around the world," said KPAA Executive Director Janet Cowperthwaite. "We are perhaps even more excited to reflect upon all the musicians and scholars who will have access to these materials in years to come, informing their own work and carrying Kronos’ inspiration and influence into the future.” The Library also appointed Kronos founder, artistic director, and violinist David Harrington as the Kluge Chair in Modern Culture and inducted Kronos’ 1992 album Pieces of Africa into the National Recording Registry.
