As recently noted in the Nonesuch Journal, Ry Cooder premiered "No Banker Left Behind" on Truthdig Radio. On the program, Truthdig's Editor-in-Chief Robert Scheer said of the album: "It's right up there with John Lennon's Working Class Hero, which I think trumps just about anything else as far as taking serious, political observations and putting them to music ... It's just a great album."

You can listen to "No Banker Left Behind" here:

Ry Cooder will perform with special guests Los Cenzontles at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on August 31 and September 1, 2011. Tickets are available at gamh.com.

Thank you, Mr. Cooder! We sure can use a little help in the globalized business jungle. REALLY looking forward to this.

Thank goodness for nonesuch records. The places to hear real music that has soul and feeling have gotten pretty rare. Ry Cooder is one of a small band of artists that are true to themselves and still release music worth anticipating. If the world was truely real, we would be watching the likes of him and David Lindley on the Grammies. Oh well, same old greasy number. Keep up the good work!

Just got tickets for both nights at the GAMH. Ry is the only guy I would travel 7 hours for. Can't wait for this album!

I got both nights too, but I'm traveling 3000 miles from Charlotte!
I've been waiting for Ry to perform in the US for years. I cannot wait to see these shows!

I saw him in Germany and then I travelled from Germany to Toronto to see him again. I just wish he would play Canada. He's the greatest of all time.

I'm looking forward to Ry Cooder's new CD+LP "Pull Up Some Dust and Sit Down". I hardly can't wait to that moment! I'm curious about the "storyteller" Mr. Cooder about politics, bankers and other now aday stuff. I hope and think M'. Cooder will be as sharp as a knive to all the hypocrits and lying politicians. It's not only in the USA, it's also hot here in our little Netherlands. Let the Words and Music speak!!

Ouestion: I noticed on the album info that there is a track 14 added: "I Want My Crown". There is no info added to the album tracklist/musicians. Is this track also on the CD? Or is it a hidden track? Or a is it a Japan Only track (very discriminating by the way),like in the old days? Just curious.

Mr. Cooder is my alltime nr. 1 musician!! It's his music that touches me!
I was at the Ry Cooder & Nick Lowe shows in Amsterdam and Antwerp 2009. I was at most Ry Cooder shows here in The Netherlands, started in 1977 Amsterdam, at Het Concertgebouw (Chicken Skin Revue), including Little Village and Buena Vista Social Club. These shows are ankerd in my mind. Awesome!

Thanks so much for the great comment, Tjerk. Apologies for the mix-up on the track list. "I Want My Crown" will indeed be on all versions of the album. The proper order of the track list is now on the album page, here.
