Shawn Colvin & Mary Chapin Carpenter to Tour UK & Ireland Together in October 2012

Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter will embark on a series of tour dates in the UK and Ireland this October. These special shows will feature the acclaimed songwriters (and longtime friends) performing as an intimate duo and will include material spanning their vast catalogs as well as some of their favorite songs. See below for the tour dates; for additional details and ticket links on these and other upcoming shows, go to nonesuch.com/on-tour. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, June 28.

Colvin released her eighth studio album, All Fall Down, on Nonesuch Records in June. Recorded in Nashville and produced by her longtime friend and occasional bandmate Buddy Miller (Robert Plant, Solomon Burke), it features a group of stellar musicians, including Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Bill Frisell, and Jakob Dylan, among others. The album coincides with the publication of her memoir, Diamond in the Rough (HarperCollins), which is a natural extension of the intimate, personal and often hilarious stories that she weaves into her live concerts.

Mary Chapin Carpenter will release her new album, Ashes and Roses, in the UK on July 2 on Rounder/Decca. This is Carpenter’s twelfth studio album.

Shawn, I caught your show many moons ago, too many now, playing with Larry Klein on bass (joking about Joni Mitchell being in LA; this is NOT a Joni concert, folks!); come back to NC! We've missed you! I just finished your Memoir - great read - thanks for sharing your journey with us all.
Chapin, I've seen you ROCK Knight Theatre in Charlotte, NC the past 2 years running; come back and bring Shawn with you!
Great venue!
Safe travels to UK to you both!

At last, the two of you together. Have seen you both several times in Belfast and Dublin but never together, can't wait for the Dublin gig, I know I'll just melt in my seat.. Would have loved you at the Belfast Waterfront but, hey, who's complaining.
