Carolina Chocolate Drops are featured on the latest episode of BBC Radio 2's The Mike Harding Show, which includes songs off the album Genuine Negro Jig and an interview with the band from the Cambridge Folk Festival. "The Carolina Chocolate Drops went on an absolute storm at the Cambridge Folk Festival this year," Harding reports, "with their blend of banjo, jug, and fiddle and their fire and showmanship."

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, the free outdoor music festival held in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with a stellar line-up of performers that includes a number of Nonesuch artists—Carolina Chocolate Drops, Randy Newman, Emmylou Harris, and T Bone Burnett—along with several artists familiar to fans of Nonesuch. The festival will be held October 1–3.

The 45th annual Cambridge Folk Festival gets under way tonight at Cherry Hinton Hall in Cambridge, England, and three Nonesuch artists are set to take the stage there this weekend: Natalie Merchant headlines Saturday night, Carolina Chocolate Drops perform both Saturday and Sunday, and Rokia Traoré performs on Sunday. BBC Radio 2 will broadcast highlights next Wednesday.

The Carolina Chocolate Drops brought the latest leg of their US summer tour to a close with a free outdoor concert in Milwaukee and return to the States in late August. The Carolina Chocolate Drops perform a free concert at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland this evening, launching the Hall's Summer in the City series of free concerts. Fans outside of Cleveland can enjoy a bit of the band's live sound tonight as well, as Seattle radio station KEXP airs an in-studio performance the trio recorded during their recent tour stop in the Pacific Northwest.

Genuine Negro Jig, the Nonesuch debut album from the Carolina Chocolate Drops, is now available on 140-gram vinyl, with the complete album included on CD. The Carolina Chocolate Drops made their Bonnaroo debut and were included among SPIN's 30 Must-Hear Artists there. The band also played the culminating event of the Spoleto Festival, drawing more than 3,000 people to their set.

Musicians and music fans from around the world have begun to converge on Manchester, Tennessee, for the 2010 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
