In her acceptance speech during the university's commencement ceremonies in Edmonton, k.d. exhorted the university's graduates to dedicate their lives to helping others. As the Edmonton Journal reports, k.d. told the crowd: "We have a moral obligation to the universe—not just to Alberta, not just to this university, not just to this country, not just to human beings, but to all beings."

k.d. brings the Canadian leg of her Watershed tour to a close tonight and tomorrow night in Vancouver at the city's Centre for Performing Arts.
