    Record Store Day, the annual celebration of indie record stores across the US and around the world, returns this Saturday, April 17. Nonesuch artists will be well represented this year, with in-store performances and/or new vinyl from Laurie Anderson, The Black Keys, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Emmylou Harris, and Wilco.

    NPR's All Songs Considered unveils its Spring Music Preview, showcasing "a whole new batch of amazing music" coming soon, starting with "Howlin' for You," off The Black Keys' Brothers. "I just heard this cut and a few others," says producer Robin Hilton, "and loved it immediately. This is gonna be a great record." Host Bob Boilen plays "Only an Expert" off Laurie Anderson's Homeland. "I like her work a lot," he says. "I think she's one of America's great storytellers and has a way of insight into very ordinary, day-to-day stuff."

    After a pre-sale brought fans of The Black Keys early access to tickets for the band's summer tour and their forthcoming album, Brothers, tickets are now available direct from the venues, and the album is available for pre-order in the Nonesuch Store. Fans who got in on early tickets were able to download "Tighten Up," the first single off of Brothers. Now everyone can catch the video for the song and its undeniably charismatic star.

    The Black Keys will support their forthcoming Nonesuch release, Brothers, due out May 18, with a summer tour beginning June 2 in Salt Lake City, including a newly added second show at Central Park’s SummerStage. Pre-sale tickets for the tour go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, March 30, through the band's site and include include a copy of Brothers upon release and an instant download of two tracks.

    Yesterday brought word of The Black Keys' May 25 appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. Today we're happy to report that the band will follow up that appearance with a performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon the following night, Wednesday, May 26. It's all to celebrate the release of their forthcoming Nonesuch album, Brothers, on May 18.

    Mark your calendars: The Black Keys are slated to perform on the Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday, May 25, one week after the release of their forthcoming Nonesuch album, Brothers. You can get an early listen to the album's lone Danger Mouse-produced track, "Tighten Up," on the band's MySpace page, which has just been given a timely face-lift to match the vibe of the album art.

    The Black Keys, due to release their sixth full-length album, Brothers, May 18 on Nonesuch, have added the album track "Tighten Up" to their MySpace page. The band reunited with producer Danger Mouse for this track and wrote, performed, and produced the rest of the album. Pitchfork notes "the soulful bounce of organ and guitar interplay" on the new tune. BBC Radio 1 says the song "adds a little sweet soul to their dynamic blues."

    The Black Keys are set to release their sixth full-length album, Brothers, May 18 on Nonesuch Records. The band recorded the bulk of the album at Alabama's legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio with additional sessions at Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound System in Akron and The Bunker in Brooklyn. The Black Keys will support Brothers with a tour that includes a sold out performance at Central Park’s SummerStage in New York in July.

    The wait is over. The official line-up for the 2010 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, has been announced. The festival will be held from Thursday, June 10, through Sunday, June 13, and among this year's artists are three Nonesuch groups: The Black Keys, Punch Brothers, and Carolina Chocolate Drops. All three groups will be on tour in the coming months.

    BlakRoc, the album that brought together The Black Keys, Damon Dash, and a star-studded lineup of hip-hop MCs, is now available digitally at nonesuch.com for fans in the US and Canada at the same audiophile-quality 320kbps MP3s available throughout the site. The A.V. Club gives the album an A, saying it "defeats all odds by sounding both organic and cohesive." The Houston Chronicle gives it four stars, calling it "a sinewy masterpiece."

    Rolling Stone has announced its 100 Best Albums of the Decade, and five Nonesuch releases have made the list, including two albums from Wilco and one each from The Black Keys, Amadou & Mariam, and Brian Wilson. Wilco is also on the magazine's list of the decade's Top 100 Songs, for "Jesus, Etc.," joined by Randy Newman, for his Harps and Angels track "A Few Words in Defense of Our Country." OMM includes the Amadou & Mariam album and Ali Farka Touré's Savane on its list of the decade's Top 50.

    After its Black Thursday release in the US, BlakRoc is now out in the UK. The Times, Independent, Financial Times, and Guardian all give it four stars; the Independent, quoting a lyric, says: "The Black Keys got so much soul." Back in the US, the New York Times describes its sound as "hard but loose, rooted in sinewy beats by Patrick Carney ... and spooky riffs by Dan Auerbach"; the Washington Post calls it "inspired." It gets an A from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Consequence of Sound says it's "simply incredible."
