Pat Metheny's adventurous new "solo” recording, Orchestrion, is set for its Nonesuch CD release on January 26. The project pairs the composer-guitarist with a phalanx of remarkable, custom-made instruments played via solenoid switches and pneumatics. Pat Metheny's adventurous new "solo” recording, Orchestrion, is set for its Nonesuch release in just over two weeks, due out on CD January 26 and on vinyl March 9. The project pairs the composer-guitarist with a phalanx of remarkable, custom-made instruments played via solenoid switches and pneumatics, resulting in the most original set of his career. But words can only do so much to describe Orchestrion. Now, for the first time, you can catch a glimpse of Pat and his instruments in action, performing an excerpt from the album track "Expansion," in a video at nonesuch.com/media.

    Vagabon (aka Laetitia Tamko) will support the band Crumb on tour this October. The shows begin in California—Santa Cruz, Oakland, and Sacramento—then head to Salt Lake City and Denver and on to Texas—Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso—and Albuquerque and back to California to close out the tour in Santa Ana, San Diego, and Los Angeles.
