Gabriel Kahane, whose Nonesuch debut album, Book of Travelers, is out August 24 on CD/digital and September 7 on vinyl, has released a new song from the album called "What If I Told You," and the video below. The video was made by Robert Edridge-Waks using original footage by Tamara Ober. The song is available to download now with pre-orders of Book of Travelers on iTunes, Bandcamp, and the Nonesuch Store, where the recently released album tracks "Baltimore, "November," and "Model Trains" may also be downloaded instantly. Bandcamp and the Nonesuch Store pre-orders also include a limited-edition signed print. The songs are also streaming on Apple Music and Spotify.

Book of Travelers comprises Gabriel Kahane's musical travelogue about the looping railway journey across the US he embarked upon the day after the 2016 Presidential election. He left behind his cell phone and other internet-connected devices, spending the next two weeks with dozens of strangers whose stories are woven into the cycle.

Following the album's release, Kahane will tour North America this fall. See below for details, or visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

The Library of Congress has acquired the collection of manuscripts, instruments, costumes, video and audio recordings, and more from Kronos Quartet and its non-profit organization, Kronos Performing Arts Association. “It’s gratifying to know that Kronos’ legacy will be preserved in perpetuity alongside the manuscripts and other treasures of so many other influential musicians from the US and around the world," said KPAA Executive Director Janet Cowperthwaite. "We are perhaps even more excited to reflect upon all the musicians and scholars who will have access to these materials in years to come, informing their own work and carrying Kronos’ inspiration and influence into the future.” The Library also appointed Kronos founder, artistic director, and violinist David Harrington as the Kluge Chair in Modern Culture and inducted Kronos’ 1992 album Pieces of Africa into the National Recording Registry.
