The music video for the title track to The Staves' 2024 album, All Now, is directed by James Arden and inspired by the influential British music television program Old Grey Whistle Test. “It’s a stream of consciousness about frustration and feeling overwhelmed with modernity,” the duo—Jessica and Camilla Staveley-Taylor—says of the title track. “Kind of a rejection of the performative way we have to express ourselves now in order for it to be deemed valid. We were in love with the old footage of singer songwriters performing in shows like the Old Grey Whistle Test, and the way the audience hung on the singer’s every word. We wanted to play with the idea of ‘All Now’ being an ideology and a message. Something that came from artists and creatives, but is then hijacked and commodified by corporate creeps, preaching the message to gain power.”

The Staves' music video for "Tired As Fuck" was directed by Dan Huiting. “We fell down an Andy Warhol hole (a Warhole if you will) recently and particularly loved his series of screen tests and moving portraits,” described the band. “They're just static shots of a subject staring at the camera. It's amazing how compelling that is. Just looking at someone for 20 minutes or so. We also bought an old overhead projector and really wanted to incorporate it by projecting these weird shapes on Camilla's face.”

"With this video we wanted to make something that was honest, simple, unpolished and that represented how the song feels to us," say The Staves of this video to the title track of their 2016 EP, Sleeping In A Car. "No fuss. No 'performance.' We filmed it ourselves over a few evenings. We were particularly tired at that time, so sleeping in a car wasn't too difficult. I think Jess was actually ill. If anything, this is an anti-video."
