Carnegie Hall has announced its 2026–27 concert season, including performances by Caroline Shaw, who has been named Richard and Barbara Debs Composer’s Chair for the season, Jeremy Denk, Gabriel Kahane, Kronos Quartet, Punch Brothers, and Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, and works by Steve Reich, John Adams, David Longstreth, and others.

Congratulations to Caroline Shaw and Sō Percussion, who have won the Edison Klassiek Award in the Netherlands for Extraordinary Classic for their latest Nonesuch album, Rectangles and Circumstance, which won the GRAMMY Award earlier this year for Best Chamber Music / Small Ensemble Performance. The Edison Klassiek Awards ceremony will take place on October 6 in Leusden, Netherlands.

Cinematic electro-pop duo Ringdown—Danni Lee Parpan and Caroline Shaw—will celebrate this year's release of their debut album, Lady on the Bike, with performances across the US starting this fall. In addition to their own headlining shows, Ringdown will open for Tune-Yards for a string of shows that end at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on October 9, and perform a handful of collaborative sets with Sō Percussion, including a stop at the 2026 Big Ears Festival in Knoxville.

Congratulations to Caroline Shaw, who has been nominated for an Emmy Award for her score to Ken Burns's documentary LEONARDO da VINCI, up for Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score)! The score, released on Nonesuch in October, features performances by the composer’s longtime collaborators Attacca Quartet, Sō Percussion, and Roomful of Teeth as well as John Patitucci. Shaw wrote and recorded new music for LEONARDO da VINCI, marking the first time a Ken Burns film has featured an entirely original score. The film, which aired on PBS in November, is directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns, and David McMahon.

Lady on the Bike—the debut album from cinematic electro-pop duo Ringdown, featuring Danni Lee Parpan and Pulitzer and Grammy winner Caroline Shaw—is out now. The album celebrates the feeling of possibility in myriad forms: the possibility of love; the possibility of creating connection and community in a world trying to pull those things apart; the possibility of making music in new ways. The songs were collaboratively written and recorded by the duo. New Body Electric members Leah Vautar and Aaron K Peterson perform on and help produce several songs; Sō Percussion is featured on a new version of Ringdown’s previously released single “Ghost.” Take a look inside in a vinyl unboxing video here.

Ringdown's Danni Lee Parpan and Caroline Shaw, whose debut album together, Lady on the Bike, is out May 9, stopped by for the Nonesuch Selects video series, in which artists visit the Nonesuch office, pick some of their favorite albums from the music library, and share a few words on their choices. The duo chose recordings by Hurray for the Riff Raff, Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, Vagabon, Mountain Man, k.d. lang, and Cécile McLorin Salvant, and Parpan recommends a few by an artist named Caroline Shaw.

Ringdown—the duo of Danni Lee Parpan and Caroline Shaw—has shared the single “Emotional Absentee” from their upcoming debut album, Lady on the Bike, out May 9. The song, about trying to create a deeper connection with someone but realizing they are emotionally unavailable, features indie electro-pop group New Body Electric. You can watch the visualizer for it here. Ringdown says: "The moral of ‘Emotional Absentee’ is that when someone shows you who they are, pay attention, and when they tell you they’ve changed, run."

Little Island in NYC announced its 2025 summer season, including performances by Davóne Tines in The Gospel at Colonus, Laurie Anderson and Sam Amidon in an Arthur Russell marathon curated by Thomas Bartlett, Amidon leading a shape-note singalong, Jeremy Denk with Conor Hanick, and Ringdown in a collaboration with choreographers Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber, plus several concerts curated by Cécile McLorin Salvant.
