    Mandy Patinkin was on CBC's Q while on tour in Toronto. He spoke with host Tom Power about life and music, including his new album, Children and Art. "I love these songs. They are songs that talk to me right now, at this moment," Patinkin says. "Whether it's funny, sad, meaningful, connective, they're all like little remembrances or prayers to me, or recollections ... But I guess more than anything, they're about finding the light for me." You can watch the conversation here.

    Chris Thile gave a thirty-minute solo set at the Fine Line in Minneapolis in August as part of the MicroShow series from MPR's The Current that can now be seen here. The set includes solo takes on music by Punch Brothers, Radiohead, and Bach, a Song of the Week from his public radio show Live From Here, and the traditional tune "Rabbit in the Log."

    Chris Thile hosted his public radio show Live From Here from The Town Hall in NYC on Saturday with musical guests Rachael & Vilray, Rachael Price, and Gabriel Kahane, plus fellow guests Mavis Staples and Janeane Garofalo. You can watch Rachael & Vilray perform three songs, Price sing the musicians birthdays medley and cover Atoms for Peace, and Kahane play one of his own here.

    Chris Thile was on WNYC's All of It to chat with host Alison Stewart about his public radio show Live From Here and perform a couple of songs. "As well as being the host of Live From Here, Chris Thile is an excellent mandolin player, a multiple Grammy winner, a 2012 MacArthur Fellow, and he wrapped up a residency at Carnegie Hall earlier this year," says Stewart. "Are you getting a theme here? He is really good at what he does." He performs "Elephant in the Room," from his 2017 solo album, Thanks for Listening, and the traditional tune "House Carpenter," which he had recorded with his band Nickel Creek.     "What I want to do with any sort of power or influence that I garner is to just shout out the people who are also deserving but because of their race, their orientation, their sexual identity—because of all these things, they somehow feel slept on," Vagabon tells NPR's All Things Considered of her new album.     When Chris Thile hosted his public radio show Live From Here from The Town Hall in NYC last weekend, he paid tribute to Steve Reich, who premiered his Music for 18 Musicians there in 1976. The show marked the composer's upcoming birthday with Live From Here musical director Mike Elizondo and drummer Eric Doob performing Reich’s Clapping Music. "As influential a composer as our country has ever produced," Thile says. "Thank you for everything you continue to do, Steve. You are an inspiration to all of us." Watch it here.
