Wanda Jackson's The Party Ain't Over isn't due out for two weeks still, set for release on Third Man / Nonesuch Records January 25, but the BBC review is out now and calling the Jack White-produced album "rich, warm, big-hearted and hilarious."

"Just as he encouraged Loretta Lynn to one of the finest albums of her life, in 2004’s Van Lear Rose," writes the BBC's Andrew Mueller of White, "he may, at this late stage, have brought the very best out of Jackson."

Mueller goes on to commend the album's "astute" song selection and praise the band, which includes White, as "all contributing to a sumptuous, brassy stew of country and blues."

The reviewer saves his final praise for Jackson herself, noting fittingly that none of the above "would matter if age had wearied Jackson’s voice, but it doesn't sound like age has even been trying."

You can pre-order The Party Ain't Over now on vinyl and CD in the Nonesuch Store, where a limited number include an exclusive, limited-edition poster autographed by Jackson, and all orders include the complete album as high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s available from release day.

Also on the show are Del McCoury and Vince Gill, among others. Listen in online Saturday at 7 PM CST via WSM at wsmonline.com.

The Library of Congress has acquired the collection of manuscripts, instruments, costumes, video and audio recordings, and more from Kronos Quartet and its non-profit organization, Kronos Performing Arts Association. “It’s gratifying to know that Kronos’ legacy will be preserved in perpetuity alongside the manuscripts and other treasures of so many other influential musicians from the US and around the world," said KPAA Executive Director Janet Cowperthwaite. "We are perhaps even more excited to reflect upon all the musicians and scholars who will have access to these materials in years to come, informing their own work and carrying Kronos’ inspiration and influence into the future.” The Library also appointed Kronos founder, artistic director, and violinist David Harrington as the Kluge Chair in Modern Culture and inducted Kronos’ 1992 album Pieces of Africa into the National Recording Registry.
