Tune in to NPR's Fresh Air today to hear highlights from the Carolina Chocolate Drops appearance on the show from earlier this year, following the release of their Nonesuch debut album, Genuine Negro Jig. It's Country Music Week at Fresh Air, during which the show is revisiting "interviews with country music's legendary songwriters and performers," including the likes of Waylon Jennings, Ricky Skaggs, Charlie Louvin, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Charlie Haden, John Doe, and Jimmie Dale Gilmore. In addition to the Chocolate Drops, today's episode will also feature an interview with Doc Watson. For more information and to listen in online, head to npr.org.

Last weekend, the Carolina Chocolate Drops stopped by the Minnesota State Fair to perform a live set on Minnesota Public Radio station 89.3 FM, The Current. That performance is now available online at minnesota.publicradio.org.

The trio continues its US tour with a free outdoor performance at Miller Plaza in Chattanooga, Tennessee, tonight, as part of that city's Nightfall Concert Series. The Chattanoogan calls tonight's concert "one of the most anticipated shows of the season." Following the performance, the band will take questions from the audience.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reporting from the band's recent performance at this year's LouFest, says the band "captivated" the crowd and "boasted pitch-perfect vocal harmonies and unique acoustic instrumentation during their hour-long set including jug, kazoo and bones." Read more at stltoday.com.

The Minneapolis City Pages, reviewing another recent show, says "the trio stomped their way through some incredible and lively old folk tunes that had more than a few folks on their feet for the entire set." Read more at citypages.com.
