Tune in to the Tony Awards ceremony, airing live from New York's Radio City Music Hall this Sunday, June 13, at 8 PM ET on CBS, for a performance from the cast of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music, featuring Catherine Zeta-Jones. Zeta-Jones, who can be seen rehearsing for the broadcast in the picture at left (posted earlier today at twitter.com/TheTonyAwards), has been nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical.

The first-ever Broadway revival of A Little Night Music has been nominated for a total of four Tony Awards, also including Best Revival of a Musical, Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for Angela Lansbury, and Best Sound Design of a Musical for sound designers Dan Moses Schreier and Gareth Owen. Broadway legends Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch will join the cast when performances resume on July 13. The two new leads recently spoke with the New York Times about taking on these roles; you can read what they have to say at nytimes.com. The Library of Congress has acquired the collection of manuscripts, instruments, costumes, video and audio recordings, and more from Kronos Quartet and its non-profit organization, Kronos Performing Arts Association. “It’s gratifying to know that Kronos’ legacy will be preserved in perpetuity alongside the manuscripts and other treasures of so many other influential musicians from the US and around the world," said KPAA Executive Director Janet Cowperthwaite. "We are perhaps even more excited to reflect upon all the musicians and scholars who will have access to these materials in years to come, informing their own work and carrying Kronos’ inspiration and influence into the future.” The Library also appointed Kronos founder, artistic director, and violinist David Harrington as the Kluge Chair in Modern Culture and inducted Kronos’ 1992 album Pieces of Africa into the National Recording Registry.
