The line-up for the 2012 American Songbook series from Lincoln Center has been announced, and among the artists performing are mandolinist Chris Thile and guitarist Michael Daves. The duo will perform songs from their debut album, Sleep with One Eye Open, at The Allen Room in Frederick P. Rose Hall, overlooking New York's Central Park, on Thursday, January 12. Tickets are go on sale to the general public on November 14. Friends of Lincoln Center will be given early access on November 3.

Chris Thile and Michael Daves released their duo debut album, Sleep with One Eye Open, on Nonesuch Records earlier this year. The album was recorded live to tape over four days at Jack White’s Third Man studio in Nashville. It features 16 traditional tunes by bluegrass legends like The Monroe Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, Jimmy Martin, and Flatt & Scruggs. The duo makes for "a rip-roaring partnership," says the New York Times. "Bluegrass, in their hands, gets roughed up in the best possible way, with skill and fervor, and a touch of abandon."

To pick up a copy of Sleep With One Eye Open, head to the Nonesuch Store, where orders include orders include high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s of the complete album along with the bonus track "Sophronie."

Thile joins his fellow Punch Brothers for a tour of the United States supporting the legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon starting this Friday. For more information, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

    Vagabon (aka Laetitia Tamko) will support the band Crumb on tour this October.
