Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) has announced two one-night-only April concert events featuring Nonesuch artists Carolina Chocolate Drops with Twyla Tharp (April 10) and Emmylou Harris on her Wrecking Ball Tour with Daniel Lanois, Steven Nistor, and Jim Wilson (April 12). These two shows serve as precursors to BAM’s larger celebration of Nonesuch’s 50th anniversary this fall (the full slate of fall shows will be announced shortly). BAM has fostered a longtime artistic connection with Nonesuch and its dedication to cultivating outstanding talent in a wide variety of musical genres.

Emmylou Harris’s groundbreaking album Wrecking Ball will be reissued April 8 on Nonesuch Records. Produced by Daniel Lanois, Wrecking Ball won the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album and was highly praised by critics worldwide. The new three-disc set features the remastered original album, a bonus CD of previously unreleased material, and a DVD of the behind-the-scenes documentary Building the Wrecking Ball. The album is available to pre-order in the Nonesuch Store. Harris and Lanois will embark on an international tour this spring, including shows at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, The Vic in Chicago, and the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, DC.

Congratulations to Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, winners of the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album of the Year for their duets album Old Yellow Moon. Crowell accepted the award on behalf of the artists in yesterday's pre-telecast ceremony at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. Watch his backstage thank-you message here. The duo resumes their US tour in South Carolina on Friday. Congratulations also to David Frost, who received the Grammy Award for Classical Producer of the Year for work including composer/pianist Timo Andres's album Home Stretch.

CBC Music has published its list of the Top Albums of the Year, and featured among them are four albums released on Nonesuch Records in 2013: Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell's Old Yellow Moon (Best Singer-Songwriter Album), Jeremy Denk's recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations (Best Classical Album), and Rokia Traoré's Beautiful Africa and Bombino's Nomad (Top 5 World Music Albums).

Congratulations to Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell on their nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album of the Year for Old Yellow Moon. The album, released to critical acclaim earlier this year, is the first official collaboration from the duo since Crowell joined Harris’ Hot Band as guitarist and harmony singer in 1975. Old Yellow Moon has already been named one of the Best Albums of the Year by American Songwriter and Uncut and has landed in the Top Ten of Amazon Customer Favorite Albums of 2013.

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell made their Austin City Limits duo debut, performing together for the first time on the ACL stage, when the duo's set aired on PBS on Saturday. You can watch the complete episode here. Harris and Crowell will be featured again on a special ACL show on November 23, featuring highlights from the Americana Music Association Honors and Awards, at which they took home the awards for Duo of the Year and Album of the Year for Old Yellow Moon. Their North American tour, with Richard Thompson, is in the Pacific Northwest and Canada this week.
