Jazz Coalition, a collective of music industry professionals, musicians, fans, and supporters, has launched a Commission Fund to support artists in the jazz community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Artists are nominated by Jazz Coalition members and selected by a jury of their peers to receive $1,000 commission grants to create new work. When public assembly restrictions are lifted, commission recipients will premiere their new works at coalition member venues. To become a member and nominate an artist for a commission grant, visit jazzcoalition.org and donate. You can hear the NPR Morning Edition feature on the fund here.
