k.d. lang begins a nine-city Southern US leg of her Ingénue Redux Tour at Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday. She performs her 1992 platinum-selling record, Ingénue, as well as songs from her 2004 Nonesuch debut album, Hymns of the 49th Parallel, in cities across Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas, culminating in Houston on September 24. See below for full list of tour dates or visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

The Americana Music Association will present lang with its 2018 Americana Trailblazer Award as part of the Americana Honors & Awards, taking place at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville next Wednesday. She will also perform a headline show of her own at the historic venue as part of her tour the following Sunday, September 16. CMT will broadcast a performance highlights special from the Americana Honors & Awards ceremony on November 28, as will Austin City Limits on PBS in February 2019.

The tour follows the release of a re-mastered Anniversary Edition of Ingénue on Nonesuch last year. The two-disc set includes eight previously unreleased live performances from lang's 1993 MTV Unplugged episode, recorded in New York City's famed Ed Sullivan Theater.

“A canny and sumptuous blend of roots music and pre-rock pop, Ingénue sounds as great today as it did upon its release," exclaims the Los Angeles Times review of lang’s performance there earlier this year. “And what a rich experience it remains ... What was remarkable was how little lang's old music required to feel new.”

You can pick up a copy of Ingénue: 25th Anniversary Edition now in the Nonesuch Store.

The Library of Congress has acquired the collection of manuscripts, instruments, costumes, video and audio recordings, and more from Kronos Quartet and its non-profit organization, Kronos Performing Arts Association. “It’s gratifying to know that Kronos’ legacy will be preserved in perpetuity alongside the manuscripts and other treasures of so many other influential musicians from the US and around the world," said KPAA Executive Director Janet Cowperthwaite. "We are perhaps even more excited to reflect upon all the musicians and scholars who will have access to these materials in years to come, informing their own work and carrying Kronos’ inspiration and influence into the future.” The Library also appointed Kronos founder, artistic director, and violinist David Harrington as the Kluge Chair in Modern Culture and inducted Kronos’ 1992 album Pieces of Africa into the National Recording Registry.
