Lake Street Dive has announced a tour of Europe and the UK next April. The two-week tour starts in Vienna on April 13, followed by shows in Munich, Berlin, Cologne, Paris, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leuven, Heidelberg, Copenhagen, Hamburg, and Amsterdam. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, October 17. The band, while in London to perform at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire last week, performed "Shame Shame Shame" from their album Free Yourself Up, on BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends and BBC London's Robert Elms show.

The band stopped by the BBC Radio 4 studio to perform "Shame Shame Shame," from Free Yourself Up, on Loose Ends, which aired this past Saturday. You can listen again and hear a short post-performance chat, all starting at nine minutes and thirty-eight seconds in here. They also made a visit to the BBC London studio to chat with Robert Elms about the new album and perform "Shame Shame Shame" there as well. You can listen to that at two hours and thirty-seven minutes into the episode here.

    The Library of Congress has acquired the collection of manuscripts, instruments, costumes, video and audio recordings, and more from Kronos Quartet and its non-profit organization, Kronos Performing Arts Association. “It’s gratifying to know that Kronos’ legacy will be preserved in perpetuity alongside the manuscripts and other treasures of so many other influential musicians from the US and around the world," said KPAA Executive Director Janet Cowperthwaite. "We are perhaps even more excited to reflect upon all the musicians and scholars who will have access to these materials in years to come, informing their own work and carrying Kronos’ inspiration and influence into the future.” The Library also appointed Kronos founder, artistic director, and violinist David Harrington as the Kluge Chair in Modern Culture and inducted Kronos’ 1992 album Pieces of Africa into the National Recording Registry.
