The line-up for the 2012 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has been announced, and among the artists performing at next year's Jazz Fest are three performers familiar to readers of the Nonesuch Journal: Carolina Chocolate Drops, Cheikh Lô, and New Orleans' own Allen Toussaint. All three are performing during the festival's opening weekend, April 27–29, 2012, at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans.

The line-up for the 2012 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has been announced, and among the artists performing at next year's Jazz Fest are three performers familiar to readers of the Nonesuch Journal: Carolina Chocolate Drops, Cheikh Lô, and New Orleans' own Allen Toussaint. All three are performing during the festival's opening weekend, April 27–29, 2012, at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans. Among the other performers at this year's Jazz Fest are Dr. John, Herbie Hancock, Feist, Iron and Wine, My Morning Jacket, Florence + the Machine, Janelle Monae, Steve Earle, Levon Helm Band with Mavis Staples, and many, many more representing a broad range of musical offerings, plus jams like the one in honor of Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s 50th Anniversary, which Toussaint will also be celebrating with many other artists at Carnegie Hall in New York on January 7.

    Vagabon (aka Laetitia Tamko) will support the band Crumb on tour this October. The shows begin in California—Santa Cruz, Oakland, and Sacramento—then head to Salt Lake City and Denver and on to Texas—Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso—and Albuquerque and back to California to close out the tour in Santa Ana, San Diego, and Los Angeles.
