Nonesuch Records wishes everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving on Thursday and a very fruitful Black Friday in the days ahead. Remember: all CDs, LPs, and DVDs in the Nonesuch Store are currently 33% off the standard retail price. Of course, the focus for the holiday is on family, and while the Nonesuch staff is spending time with theirs, there are a few special events and concerts in the coming days to keep in mind as well.

In that holiday spirit, Ben Folds returns to Nashville for a special homecoming concert at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall on Saturday. Titled Keys to Music City, the concert is a benefit for the Nashville Symphony and two local volunteer firefighting organizations, in response to the damaging flood that hit the city back in May. Folds performs with the orchestra, led by conductor Francisco Noya. Also on the bill is nine-year-old piano-playing sensation Ethan Bortnick (Pictured at left is the commemorative poster for the event, designed by Folds's drummer Sam Smith and available for purchase on the night of the show; proceeds will also go to the symphony and firefighters.)

"This concert is an effort to help keep the recovery in the front of our minds and to help restore our great symphony hall," Folds has said. In a recent piece on Nashville Public Television's Arts Break, the Symphony's President & CEO Alan Valentine said he expects the event to be "one of the more interesting concerts not only for symphony fans, but also for Ben Folds fans."

Folds spoke with the Nashville Scene about the event for an article you can read at nashvillescene.com.

Folds appears at National Geographic Live! in Washington, DC, next week for Music on ... Photography, a presentation of his photos of the Nashville flood and a talk about his work with moderator Mark Seliger. Folds's Lonely Avenue tour, featuring songs from his recent collaborative album with Nick Hornby, has one more stop in the US, at the Beacon Theatre in New York, next month, before heading to Europe in February.

---

Punch Brothers make a return appearance on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor this Saturday, along with fellow guest Paula Poundstone. The show will broadcast live from Cincinnati Music Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio, on public radio stations across the US and on Sirius satellite radio's NPR Talk channel 135. The show's website, prairiehome.org, also offers a live audio Web stream of the show and a rebroadcast of the stream Sunday morning.

---

Joshua Redman and Brad Mehldau, fresh off their tour of Europe premiering Mehldau's Highway Rider, remain on the Continent this week for two duo performances: at the Polska Filharmonia Bałtycka in Gdansk, Poland, for the Jazz Jantar Festival tonight, and at the Palace of Arts in Budapest, Hungary, on Thursday.

---

Oumou Sangare, in the States for an all-too-brief three-show tour, gives an encore performance at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx, New York, on Saturday, following last weekend's show there, and then heads to Charlotte, North Carolina, for a final US performance, at Bojangles' Coliseum on Sunday.
