On the latest edition of NPR's All Songs Considered, host Bob Boilen and his regular cast of contributors sort through the "crush of great new music" coming out this summer, choosing "some of the upcoming albums they're most looking forward to." Robin Hilton, the show's producer, chooses Familial, the forthcoming debut solo album from Philip Selway, due out on Nonesuch August 31, and now available for pre-order in the Nonesuch Store.

"This one is by a guy I never would have expected to put out a solo record I would really, really love," Hilton begins. "It's by Phil Selway, the drummer from Radiohead. He's wonderful in Radiohead, but how many drummers say they're coming out with a solo record, and you think, 'Oh, awesome, I cannot wait to hear it?'"

"The Wilco drummer," Bob Boilen chimes in.

Hilton concurs, adding: "It's interesting that you mention the Wilco drummer [Glenn Kotche], because he's actually on this record." Returning to Selway, Hilton continues: "He's got a gorgeous voice, and I never knew he could sing so beautifully, and that he had such wonderful songs in him, but he does ... What I've heard so far from this Phil Selway record is wonderful."

After Hilton plays the album's opening track, "By Some Miracle," Boilen responds: "It's beautiful; he's got a great voice ... Love that."

The track is available to download instantly with every pre-order of the album in the Nonesuch Store. To reserve your copy now and get the track, click here.
