Randy Newman is the subject of a Pitchfork interview, posted today, in which the site's Joshua Klein talks with the singer/songwriter about his latest Nonesuch release, Harps and Angels, the current state of affairs in the US and abroad, and how they all tie together. Klein prefaces their exchange with this: "Randy Newman's not the most prolific songwriter, but when he does deign to release a new record, it's because he's got something to say. Harps and Angels is full of the satirical barbs and critical observations Newman fans have come to expect ..."

The US leg of Randy's tour came to a close this past weekend, and Randy gears up for a tour of Europe, which begins this Saturday in Germany, a country that, coincidentally, has featured in more than one of his songs over the years.
