Randy Newman has announced that he will tour Europe in April and May 2010 to support the release of his acclaimed, best-selling album Harps and Angels, his first album of new material in nine years and the first record of his 40-year career ever to chart in the UK. The tour includes dates in Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, UK, and Holland, and follows a February performance at UCLA in February.

Released on Nonesuch in 2008, Harps and Angels is Newman’s first album of new material in nine years and the first record of his 40-year career ever to chart in the UK. It also scored Newman his highest-ever debut on the US Billboard 200, and was included in the year-end best album lists of Mojo, Q, Rolling Stone, and Uncut, among others. Rolling Stone recently named the album track "A Few Words in Defense of Our Country" among the Top 100 Songs of the '00s.

Randy's European tour begins April 27 in Helsinki, Finland, and includes dates in Norway, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, UK, and Holland. Prior to the tour, Randy's scheduled to perform one show closer to home at Royce Hall in Los Angeles February 19.
