Rokia Traoré has been named to the Jury of the 68th Cannes Film Festival, which will take place May 13–24, 2015. The nine-member Jury is led by its Presidents, Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, and also includes Rossy de Palma, Sophie Marceau, Sienna Miller, Jake Gyllenhaal, Guillermo del Toro, and Xavier Dolan. It decides among the films in competition and select the prize winners, culminating in the Palme d’or, which will be announced on stage during the Festival Closing Ceremony on Sunday, May 24.

Malian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Rokia Traoré has been named to the Jury of the 68th Cannes Film Festival, which will take place May 13–24, 2015. Rokia Traoré has released three album on Nonesuch Records: Bowmboï (2004), Tchamantché (2009), and her most recent album, Beautiful Africa (2013), about which Songlines exclaimed in a five-star review: "It really doesn’t get better than this in today’s African music ... Rokia’s work is exciting, surprising, and always perfectly executed." The New York Times says: "Traoré has a gentle voice with a steely core, one that’s revealed more clearly than ever on Beautiful Africa." NPR says the album "is just as smart and lovely as its creator."

Nonesuch Records released the soundtrack to the Coen Brothers latest film, Inside Llewyn Davis, in 2013, as well as a two-disc collection, produced by the Coens and T Bone Burnett, that captured a one-night-only concert celebrating the music of film called Another Day, Another Time.

    Caroline Shaw and Sō Percussion have released "To Music," a new track from their upcoming album, Rectangles and Circumstance, due June 14 on Nonesuch. You can watch the video, directed by Robert Edridge-Waks with photography by Daniel Kukla, here. Shaw and Sō co-wrote and performed the ten songs on the album, which they co-produced with Grammy-winning engineer Jonathan Low (The National, Taylor Swift).
