    Daughter of SwordsMountain Man's Alexandra Sauser-Monnig—stopped by WNYC Studios as the guest on New Sounds' Soundcheck today to talk with host John Schaefer about her debut album, Dawnbreaker, and perform three songs from it: "Long Leaf Pine," "Fields of Gold," and "Human." "As with the songs that you wrote for the last Mountain Man record, there is a very timeless, old, really deep folk sound," says Schaefer. You can see for yourself in the session below.

    Earlier today, Daughter of Swords released a new lyric video for "Easy Is Hard," from Dawnbreaker, and announced new tour dates for the fall as special guest of Wilco and Joan Shelley.     Composer-performer Daniel Wohl, whose album État was released on New Amsterdam and Nonesuch Records last year, begins a European tour as the special guest of A Winged Victory for the Sullen at De Duif in Amsterdam tonight. The fourteen-concert tour continues in Germany, Belgium, Ireland, and the UK, including shows at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Round Chapel in London, and Dublin's National Concert Hall.
