Emmylou Harris's new album, All I Intended to Be, hits stores today. "Like cool water on a hot day," writes the Boston Globe's Sarah Rodman, "Emmylou Harris's bruised-angel voice remains a welcome balm." After visiting the Today show this morning, Emmylou spends a few more days in New York City to perform on the Late Show with David Letterman Thursday night and, earlier that evening, at the flagship Barnes & Noble store in Union Square, beginning at 7 PM.

Byrne, a longtime advocate of urban bike use, will be part of a segment focusing on efforts to make cities more bike friendly. There's also word on his collaboration with Dirty Projectors for the forthcoming edition of the Red Hot compilation album to benefit AIDS research. Also on the album are Feist, Sufjan Stevens, Grizzly Bear, Sharon Jones, The Decemberists, and The National, whose Bryce Dessner is producing the collection.

The site gives props this time around to the "plow through the anvil-slamming, scuzz-blues riffage of 'I Got Mine'" the band brought to the show last night. JamBase, in an interview with producer Danger Mouse, calls the album "an incredible piece of work."
