Randy Newman will appear on the TODAY show, Tuesday, October 21, during the 10 AM hour. He will perform live as well as chat with hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.

Dawn Upshaw joins the San Francisco Symphony and conductor Michael Tilson Thomas tonight in an all-Bernstein program for Carnegie Hall's Opening Night Gala. After the program's premiere last week in San Francisco, the San Francisco Chronicle hailed Dawn's performance as "the high point," citing her "fizzy, funny and wonderfully evocative rendition" of the aria "What a Movie" from the opera Trouble in Tahiti. Tonight's performance, also featuring baritone Thomas Hampson, vocalist Christine Ebersole, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma, launches Bernstein: The Best of all Possible Worlds, the Hall's joint celebration, with the New York Philharmonic, of the 90th anniversary of the composer's birth.

When Punch Brothers played the Ravinia Festival outside Chicago last week, it was something of a coming home for the band's banjo player, Noam Pikelny, a native son of the city. Chicago Tonight, from public television station WTTW, profiles Noam and the band whose Nonesuch debut, Punch, "takes bluegrass where it has never gone before."

The Black Keys will be featured tonight on Live from Abbey Road, the TV music series that captures artists performing in the intimate, audience-free setting of the famed Abbey Road studios. Randy's Friday appearance on the French TV show Esprits Libres is now available online. After being introduced as "un grand monsieur de la musique Américaine," Randy performs "Losing You" from his forthcoming release, Harps and Angels, and, at the request of the show's host, an impromptu version of "In Germany Before the War," as well as "Sail Away," from the seminal 1972 album of the same name.

Tune in to the Late Show with David Letterman tonight to watch Emmylou Harris perform the song "Shores of White Sand" off her latest Nonesuch release, All I Intended to Be. The show begins at 11:35 PM ET on CBS stations across the country. Earlier in the day, Emmylou will perform live at New York's flagship Barnes & Noble store, in Union Square, beginning at 7 PM. The event, part of the store's One on One series, will be hosted by Katherine Lanpher, who will lead a discussion with the singer/songwriter as well.

Emmylou Harris's new album, All I Intended to Be, hits stores today.
