Dan Auerbach's song "Going Home," off his debut solo album, Keep It Hid, provides the musical setting for a new short documentary video released today from the United Nations that calls attention to the crisis of internally displaced people in Eastern Congo. Today's video release coincides with the visit of UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos to the Congo. Watch the video here.

Jessica Lea Mayfield was the musical guest on the Late Show with David Letterman Friday night, marking her network television debut. She performed "Our Hearts Are Wrong," off her Nonesuch debut album, Tell Me. "That was great," Letterman said. "I enjoyed that considerably." To that, Paul Shaffer added: "I loved it." Watch the performance here. Mayfield is in the UK this week, where she can be heard on BBC Radio 6 on Wednesday and seen live at Fopp in London on Thursday.

Laurie Anderson was the musical guest on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night. She performed an excerpt of "Another Day in America," off her latest album, Homeland, accompanied by Colin Stetson on saxophone and Rob Burger on accordion, with her male alter ego, Fenway Bergamot, contributing vocals. Norwegian Wood, director Anh Hung Tran's adaptation of the Haruki Murakami novel, will hit UK theatres on March 11. The soundtrack, out on Nonesuch March 7 in the UK and March 8 in the US, features an instrumental score by Jonny Greenwood performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Emperor Quartet, as well as three tracks written and performed by CAN, and is now available for pre-order in the Nonesuch Store. Randy Newman continues his US tour with two stops in the Midwest this weekend. Last weekend, Newman received a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for the film Toy Story 3. He's been nominated for an Academy Award for the song "We Belong Together" from the film and will perform it at the Oscars next weekend. Newman recently spoke about his scoring and songwriting on PBS's Tavis Smiley, which you can watch here.

The Black Keys walked away from last night's Grammy Awards ceremonies with several awards for their album Brothers, including Best Alternative Music Album. The Plain Dealer exclaims: "It's official: The Black Keys are good as gold." The love continues as they spend their Valentine's Day on Conan, tonight. Also on tonight's show: Justin Bieber. The Black Keys were on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday, performing "Howlin' for You"; watch it here.

Jessica Lea Mayfield and her album Tell Me were featured on NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday. "Meeting, matching, looking for love and struggling to keep it are all subjects for songs on Jessica Lea Mayfield's new album," says host Scott Simon. Mayfield performs those songs at First Avenue in Minneapolis tonight, the final stop on her tour with Justin Townes Earle. Up next are three shows with the Avett Brothers. The trailer for Howlin' for You, directed by Chris Marrs Piliero and featuring music by The Black Keys, which premiered on IMDB yesterday, seems to have gotten some notice. Pitchfork calls it "hilariously awesome," this "trailer for a so-bad-it's-insanely-good action film." They're not alone. "It's campy, it's cheesy and it's full of violence," says Billboard. "This is certainly a release we're howlin' for." Watch the trailer here. The Black Keys will be on The Tonight Show tonight; their album Brothers, on which "Howlin' for You" appears, is up for six Grammys on Sunday. They spoke about that with KROQ yesterday.

Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians will receive its first Scottish performance in a decade when conductor Thomas Adès leads the London Sinfonietta and Synergy Vocals in a performance of the piece at Glasgow's City Halls on Sunday. Reich spoke with BBC Radio 3's Robert Worby about his music and the inspiration behind the piece for a short film by the London Sinfonietta. Watch it here.

Yesterday brought news of the addition of a number of new dates to Wanda Jackson's US tour, featuring music from her Third Man / Nonesuch Records debut, The Party Ain't Over, produced by Jack White. Now comes the release of a new video of Jackson and the Third Man Band, with Jack White on guitar, performing "Riot in Cell Block #9," recorded at the premiere album-release show on January 18 at Third Man's Music City studio. The Low Anthem's latest album, Smart Flesh, is due out in just a few weeks, on February 22, and is available for pre-order. The band was recently in Utah for the Sundance Film Festival, where they performed at the ASCAP Music Café. You can watch a performance video from Sundance here, interspersed with a conversation with the band about their affinity for playing multiple instruments, their dynamic range, and the collaborative nature of the band. 

Ben Folds's US tour came to close one day earlier than expected when his concert in Tulsa tonight had to be postponed due to a major snowstorm blanketing the region. Throughout the tour, Folds has enlisted the help of audience members to perform an a cappella version of the song "Working Day" off Lonely Avenue, his collaboration with Nick Hornby.
