Robert Plant’s Saving Grace: All That Glitters... is out digitally October 9. The EP, previously released on vinyl for Record Store Day, follows Plant’s 2025 critically acclaimed album, Saving Grace; both feature singer Suzi Dian and a band of musicians from the English countryside that Plant calls home. The EP’s four tracks further explore the folk and Americana songs that Plant and the band love: the traditional tunes “The Blackest Crow” and “Two Coats,” Gillian Welch’s “Orphan Girl,” and Bert Jansch’s “Poison.” “Two Coats” is available today along with a video that may be seen here. The Americana Music Association honors Plant with its Lifetime Achievement Award on September 16 at the Ryman Auditorium. Plant and the band then embark on the Up the Sharp End US tour.

Composer, producer, saxophonist and synthesist Josh Johnson's solo album Animative, his third album under his own name and his first for International Anthem / Nonesuch Records, is out October 23 on physical formats / digital download; streaming November 10. The ten track album—co-produced by Johnson and Paul Bryan, featuring contributions from Meshell Ndegeocello, Macie Stewart, Marquis Hill, Ben Lumsdaine, and others—blends skeletal soul-jazz, post-bop, electronic minimalism, and dreamy ambience. Johnson often uses the saxophone to control a sampler or a drum machine, triggering changes in a loop or an effect, but always in service of a feeling.

Fantasy & Reveries, Brad Mehldau’s recording of his solo compositions Fantasy for Piano and Fourteen Reveries, is out November 13, 2026, on Nonesuch Records. Originally commissioned by Jeremy Denk, Fantasy for Piano was written in the same period as Mehldau’s Three Pieces After Bach. Fourteen Reveries, similar to the composer’s Suite: April 2020, comprises a collection of shorter pieces. Reveries 1 and 2 are available today, along with videos featuring their scrolling scores.

Cécile McLorin Salvant sat down for a Nonesuch Q&A about her new album, With Every Breath I Take, her first orchestral record. Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and virtuoso guitarist Molly Tuttle's So Long Little Miss Sunshine (Acoustic EP), a companion EP to her acclaimed Grammy-nominated album So Long Little Miss Sunshine, is out now. It was recorded with touring bandmates Vanessa McGowan and Mary Meyer and produced by Steve Berns. The EP strips back five standout tracks from the album and places Tuttle's voice, intricate guitar playing, and songwriting front and center. The intimate recordings offer a fresh perspective on some of the album's most personal songs.

Grammy-winning composer Donnacha Dennehy’s Limina is out now. The album features premiere recordings of two pieces: the piano concerto Limina and Violin Concerto, performed by National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, conductor Ryan McAdams, pianist Eliza McCarthy, and violinist Stephen Waarts; it was recorded at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. The five-star Guardian review exclaims: "These two concertos, beautifully paired, again find Donnacha Dennehy writing music that is both firmly grounded—both rhythmically and in his fascination with the harmonic series—and joyously unfettered."

Natalie Merchant was on the Word in Your Ear podcast to talk about the roots and evolution of Cabinet of Wonder, her collaboration with Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chicago Children's Theatre, which reimagines Mother Goose and her rhymes for a new generation of young children. Fifteen, the first album from the collective trio of saxophonist and flutist Henry Threadgill, pianist Vijay Iyer, and drummer Dafnis Prieto, is out now on Nonesuch Records; it is also the label debut for all three musicians. The record takes its name from the number of years the trio has been performing together—first at a series of benefits for NYC's The Jazz Gallery, and then around the US and internationally. It comprises three compositions by Threadgill and Iyer and two by Prieto. Also out today is a video for "Last Night," written by Threadgill, made during the recording session; you can watch it here.
