Lianne La Havas's song "What You Don't Do," from her new album, Blood, and The Staves' "Black and White," from their new album, If I Was, have made NPR's Heavy Rotation, the monthly list of Songs Public Radio Can't Stop Playing. La Havas is "glowing, her voice as rich as ever," says KCRW's Anne Litt. "There's no doubt that Lianne La Havas is a powerhouse with a full heart, creating music that's sweeping, inspiring and downright fun." The Staves "are incredible performers with unmatched harmonies," says WFUV's Russ Borris. The album "is a stunning piece of work with a beauty that connects and cuts at the same time," with this song "exemplifying what makes this band unique and impressive."

Two English artists, Lianne La Havas, whose new album, Blood, is due out this Friday, and The Staves, whose Nonesuch debut album, If I Was, was released earlier this year, have made NPR's Heavy Rotation, the monthly list of Songs Public Radio Can't Stop Playing. La Havas's song "What You Don't Do" was selected by KCRW's Anne Litt, and The Staves' "Black & White" was chosen by WFUV's Russ Borris.

"The uplifting, soulful pop" of La Havas's track makes it "a sunny standout from her second album, Blood," says Litt. "La Havas remains confident and strong to the core in her new music. In this song, she's glowing, her voice as rich as ever. As the song builds to a hands-in-the-air crescendo singalong, there's no doubt that Lianne La Havas is a powerhouse with a full heart, creating music that's sweeping, inspiring and downright fun."

The three Staveley-Taylor sisters of The Staves "are incredible performers with unmatched harmonies," says Borris. "The trio's new album, If I Was, was produced by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, and it is a stunning piece of work with a beauty that connects and cuts at the same time." "Black & White," the album track he's selected for Heavy Rotation, "is a clear standout, exemplifying what makes this band unique and impressive. Hands down, this is one of my favorite albums ... of the year."
