Carolina Chocolate Drops are featured on the latest episode of On Canvas from Philadelphia PBS member station WHYY. On Canvas is an Emmy Award winning music and performance program recorded live on location at local venues in and around Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. This episode captures a performance by the Carolina Chocolate Drops at The Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware, as well as interviews with members of the band about their connection to and the importance of the music they play. Carolina Chocolate Drops' Nonesuch debut album, Genuine Negro Jig, on a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album in 2011. Their latest record, Leaving Eden, released last year, contains original compositions, covers, and traditional songs and was produced by Buddy Miller. The BBC called it "plain terrific." The band plays a number of tour dates in the US South later this year, starting at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta on December 6, followed by three sets of two-night runs: at The Orange Peel in Asheville, Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, and Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte.
